Q 1. Explain the difference between Trim Tabs, Servo Tabs, Anti Servo Tabs and balance Tabs.

Q 2. What is a 'Canard'? Outline 3 advantages and 3 disadvantages of the Canard Design.

Q 3. What are 'Ruddervaters'?

Q 4. Outline the two classifications of Carburetor Systems.

Q5. Outline the difference between the 'Wet Sump' and 'Dry Sump' Oil Systems. Outline 3 advantages and 3 disadvantages of each.

Q 6. State the applications of Vs0, Vs1, VFE, VNO, Va, VNE.

Q 7. How do 'Slotted Flaps' increase CLmax?

Q 8. In what conditions is Carburetor icing most likely to occur? What are the full range of conditions?

hmm ok
...
balance tab is moving opposite the direction column..for example if you exert back pressure on the elevator goes up and the balance tab down therefore creating aerodynamic force which helps reducing the control load on the pilot...servo tab is a variation of balance tab with the difference that the control column is not connected lets say with the elevator but with the Tab...the Trim tab is reducing the moment at the hinge line of the control so if you trim it right the aeroplane fly hands off...anti balance tab increases the load on the control column preventing the pilot to overstress the plane by over-controlling it lol!

Another way you can look at it is by visualizing the rudder.

- Rudder swings 'left', servo tab moves 'right', decreasing the strength required for a given amount of control surface deflection. And so conversely...
- Rudder swings 'left', anti servo tab moves 'left'. Increasing the strength required for a given amount of control surface deflection.

It might be noted that 'balance tabs' are usually associated with 'stabilitors' (all flying tails) where as servo tabs are associated with horizontal stabilizers.

Q12:


well we know that Airspeed Indicator works with pitot pressure plus static pressure....so first think i will suspect it will be failure of the Pitot Head Pressure...If it was the static pressure then the altimeter and VSI would have problem too...in this case i will use the alternate Static source in the cockpit....



PS......sorry for being away so long....i am preparing for my skill test...so i will give a quick answer for question 12 and i will be back soon for the rest questions
